DIY isnt always perfect. Projects arent always completed during an afternoon nap.
Lets be honest, sometimes babies skip afternoon naps and the only thing you can dream of after that lonnnnggggg day is a nap yourself.
Our house seems to be a constant mess and I seem to be fighting the messes and to do lists from the moment I get up till the moment I flop into bed.
Can you relate??
We have unfinished projects laying around everywhere, and before guests come over I do a mad dash around our rooms stuffing random things around into already overstuffed closets and drawers.
Before we had children, or even when we just had one, I found that our projects got completed in good time, and our drawers were sligthly organized.
This sight in our living room behind our sofa, would not have sat unfinished for two months if the before-baby-me was in charge.
My reality is that between snuggle times, and clean ups times, and wiping bums and faces times, this Mama stared and struggled with this wall of frames.
It had taken me not more then ten minutes to hunt my house and then to hang them all in place with simple nails, a small level and a high heeled shoe.
And then two months seriously flew by.
This time lapse disclaimer is meant to encourage YOU that rooms are never picture worthy the first day you try to change something. Or the second, or the third.
Sometimes projects, DIYs and room reveals take forever to come together and that is fine too.
The fun is in the process and makes the final product that much more enjoyable!
I am learning to accept the fact taht with three sweet babies messes are acceptable, paint cans can be used as step stools, and projects will take months to complete. I am learnign to find joy in the creative process and to accept our home for the imperfections it has instead of trying to change everything at once.
Our living room gallery wall and the whole room makeover is coming together.
I cant wait to show you how it has changed and evolved at the "tortoise pace" we have come to accept.
Our babies are already breaking the room in. :)
